Solving the Maximum Location Coverage Problem in theory and practice using ArcGIS Pro, Power BI, and CPLEX
Using ArcGIS Pro, Power BI, and CPLEX, I solved the Maximum Covering Location Problem both in theory and in a real-world use case: examining how a person’s willingness to travel to bus stops determines the effective coverage of transit stations in a sample town. The optimization identifies stop placements that maximize the population served under a given travel-distance constraint.
